13 building plans approved in June

The Buildings Department approved 13 building plans in June, with four on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, one was for commercial development, and five were for community services development.

In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 12 building projects which, when completed, will provide 70 876 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1 468 units, and 20 320 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for seven building projects.

The department also issued 20 occupation permits, with five on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 38 565 sq m involving 876 units, and 153 805 sq m was for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $10.7 billion.

In addition, eight demolition consents involving eight building structures were issued.

The department received 2 964 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in June and issued 987 removal orders on UBWs.
