Six building plans approved in July

The Buildings Department approved six building plans in July, with two in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.

Of the approved plans, two were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, one was for commercial development, and three were for community services developments.

In the same month, consent was given for works to start on eight building projects which, when completed, will provide 49 388 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 608 units, and 31 424 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for four building projects.

The department also issued 15 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 91 964 sq m involving 2 209 units, and 36 644 sq m was for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $6.4 billion.

In addition, five demolition consents were issued.

The department received 3 311 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in July and issued 659 removal orders on UBWs.
