33 building plans approved in April
The Buildings Department approved 33 building plans in April - 15 on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, 19 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, six were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments and seven was for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 18 building projects that, when completed, will provide 22,671 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 472 units, and 292,818 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 15 building projects.
The department also issued nine occupation permits - one on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 3,869 square metres, involving 96 units, and 41,846 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in April totalled about $1.2 billion.
In addition, nine demolition consents involving nine building structures were issued.
The department received 2,171 complaints against unauthorised building works in April, and issued 2,279 removal orders on unauthorised works.
