Signboard Validation Scheme

Signboard owners are encouraged to join the Validation Scheme by appointing the Prescribed Building Professionals (PBP) and/or Prescribed Registered Contractors (PRC) (i.e. the Appointed Persons) to inspect, strengthen (if required) and certify the structural safety of the existing signboards that are relatively small in scale, pose less potential risk and already existed before 2 September 2013.

This is a voluntary scheme implemented since 2 September 2013, and the safety check is required to be carried out again every 5 years or the signboards should be removed. See Legal Status of Validated Signboards.

The information of validated signboards has been uploaded to the Government's GeoInfo Map for public's reference.
